Beeswax has been in my life for a long long time. I use it everyday! Other lip balms just don’t seem to work as well for me. I have a nasty habit of when my lips start to get chapped I keep licking them. After I put my beeswax on the peppermint reminds me to stop.
I bought a new tube today, and just had to show how worn out my old tube was. The old one is almost empty, but I’ve had it for about a year! I can never get past how long these things last, especially when I’m using it multiple times a day!
I love this stuff!
It’s been a while since I posted one of my favorite things so I thought I’d post another thing I use every day.
Organizing is a big deal for me. The more organized I am the less stress I have. I’ve been using circa notebooks for a while, and they are absolutely wonderful. Unlike a traditional notebook, I can organize the pages like a binder, but the cover folds back and lays flat like a spiral.
I’m using the smaller one to keep track of what I eat and how many calories I have left for the day.
The other notebook I use to write anything I want to keep for an extended time.
As far as I know there are three different systems like this. Myndology markets one that isn’t compatible with the other systems. Levenger and Staples also market notebooks and they work together. Mine is a combination of the staples and Levenger system.
I love my notebooks and I hope you find something you love as much!
A few months ago I started to notice something. I would wake up feeling incredibly thirsty. I took that as a sign that I wasn’t getting enough water.
The bottle I was using at the time was a bottle I found at Wal-Mart and it leaked so badly I might as well have been drinking out of a glass. One time I had it packed in the side pocket of my backpack and had walked clear across campus before I realized half of the bottle had leaked out. I liked it, but I just wasn’t using it as much as I should have. If something isn’t working for you sometimes you’re just using the wrong thing.
I shopped around on Amazon a bit and there were lots of options but nothing really seemed to suit what I needed at that time. There were lots that I could see myself using under certain situations but nothing that really was what i was looking for. This one would be great for travel because it folds flat so you don’t have to lug around an empty bottle.
I was shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond one day and saw a water bottle that was completely leak proof. I thought my searching days were over! Unfortunately a week or two after I brought it home I started noticing that it was really hard to drink out of and I was having to work to drink two bottles a day. Definitely far from my hydration goals.
A few days later I went into one of the outdoor stores here and saw the Camelbak Better Bottle. I immediately bought one. I was skeptical of their claims that this bottle will make you drink more water, but I knew that when I drink through a straw I drink more water.
I LOVE my water bottle. It never leaves my side. I’ve never had so much water in my life! I feel so much better, and I don’t wake up thirsty anymore! The other day I drank fifteen cups of water.
I do have a little bit of a problem with mold in the bite valve (even though all I use it for is water) but letting it dry overnight alleviates the issue.
I guess I’m technically supposed to tell you they didn’t pay me anything to write this, I just LOVE my water bottle so much I thought it deserved a blog post as one of my favorite things.
I live in an apartment that faces some pretty bright night lights in a park. This means that every night when I went to bed during the summer I had bright lights shining in my window.
Night light can dramatically affect your sleep patterns and I noticed some sleep issues even when I went home. I really wanted to standardize things so I could get the best sleep I could. I started looking into sleep masks as a way to fix this problem
I did my research and bought a Bucky 40 Blinks eye mask off Amazon.
It was life changing. Whenever I put it on I notice an immediate difference. I never realized how much light was in my apartment in the middle of the night until I got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and took off my eye mask.
It did take some time to get used to it, with some strange results. The first night I wore it I woke up and couldn’t find it anywhere. Somehow I hung it over the bed post in a place I would have had to sat up to reach. How did I not remember doing this? Weird.
I wanted to talk about one of my favorite things. It’s my blog, that’s allowed! And, it’s related!
When I first started reading healthy living blogs I stumbled across Edible Perspective and read all about Ashley and her adventures in her Vibrams. She inspired me to start running and the more research I did into it the better vibrams sounded.
When I was in high school I rolled my car which led to an impacted disk. Several visits with a chiropractor and it’s a lot better, but it’s really easy to aggravate. If these shoes could teach me how to strike so my back didn’t take the impact I’m in! I got sprints because they were the most versatile so almost anything I wanted to do I could use them.
We went to a running store to buy ours because we wanted to make sure and get the right size (and I’m glad we did because I had to try on a few pair before we found one that fit!). I really wanted them in blue, but all they had in my size was black. That’s okay, I love them anyway 🙂
These are absolutely the most comfortable shoes I own. I don’t feel the need to kick them off when I walk into the house and would gladly keep them on even if I’m not going anywhere.
If you’re considering vibrams make sure make sure you acclimate yourself to them so you don’t hurt yourself. You’re using muscles you never knew existed and you have to let them build up to the rest of your muscles!
P.S. I just learned recently that I’ve been pronouncing them wrong. It’s like veebrams not vIbrams! Lesson for the day!
I’ll be back later to give a recap of today!
